How to play Handoff
Handoff is a task-optimisation puzzle: you assign each task to a teammate, matching the right skill while respecting a shared budget and everyone's time. It is free, runs in your browser, and needs no account or install.

- 1Tap a task to select it; its icon shows the skill it needs and the dots show its effort in hours.
- 2Tap the teammate you want to hand it to. Their strength (skill), cost per hour and time already used show on their card.
- 3Place every task without blowing the budget (the top bar) or any teammate's own time cap.
- 4On solving, compare your cost to the optimum: the delta and the stars tell you if you hit the lowest possible.
Tips to score higher
- Delegating on the matching skill is cheaper and faster; an off-skill pick still works but costs double the money and one extra hour.
- The two constraints pull opposite ways: sometimes it pays to hand a task to a cheaper teammate who lacks the skill, to save budget without blowing their time.
- Chase delta 0 (three stars): the obvious plan of giving each task to its skill owner usually sits above the optimum, which uses spare time to re-route to a cheaper teammate.

- What are the delta and the stars at the end?
- The delta is the gap between your total cost and the lowest possible cost, genuinely solved for that level. Delta 0 means you hit the optimum and earns three stars.
