How to play Breakout
Breakout is a race-the-clock escape room: you crack a series of locks, including a deduction lock where you combine several clues to work out a 3-digit code. It is free, runs in your browser and needs no account or install.

- 1Each run mixes different locks (count icons, sum, pattern, dice, odd-one-out) in random order; solve them all to escape.
- 2On the deduction lock, cross-reference the clues (sum, ordering, odd/even, min/max) to derive the three digits, each from 1 to 6.
- 3Enter the code on the keypad; every wrong attempt adds a 5-second penalty.
- 4Time is your score, so escape fast: cracking a lock within a few seconds even shaves seconds off.
Tips to score higher
- You can spend a hint to reveal one digit of the deduction, but it costs 8 seconds and the last digit must always be deduced.
- On Hard the deduction is the expert variant: fewer clues plus a decoy clue that constrains nothing, so spot and ignore the fake first.
- Physical number keys, Enter and Backspace work on the numeric locks, which is faster than tapping the on-screen keypad.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account or to pay?
- No. It is free, runs in the browser and asks for no sign-up or install.
- How does the deduction code work?
- It is a 3-digit number (each digit 1 to 6) that only one combination satisfies; put all the given clues together and they point to a single solution.
