How to play Loadout
Loadout is a backpack-packing puzzle where you optimize what you carry under two limits at once: weight and volume. It is free, plays in your browser, and needs no login.

- 1Pack every scenario essential first; they always count and belong in the optimal load.
- 2Add extras that form combos (stove with pot, bag with mat) to earn double value.
- 3Watch both bars: stay under weight and volume or the pack does not count.
- 4Avoid conflicting items (two tents, two bags) and compare your value with the shown optimum.
Tips to score higher
- A bonus item is weak alone; it only pays off if its combo partner also fits, so plan in pairs.
- Redundant kit penalizes you: never carry two shelters, two sleeping bags, or double footwear.
- The game computes the perfect pack and shows the gap (delta); aim for zero by filling both bars tightly.
