How to play Profiler
Profiler is a founder simulator where every question is a decision that moves Cash and Traction, and your choices compound across turns. It is free, runs in your browser and needs no account or install.

- 1Each turn, pick one of several business decisions; each grants cash and/or traction.
- 2Traction pays recurring revenue every following turn, so building it early snowballs into cash.
- 3Balance specialising (backing the same archetype, which multiplies its payoff) against diversifying (more archetypes, which fattens your recurring revenue).
- 4If cash hits zero you go bankrupt; at the end, your line is scored against this run's real optimal line.
Tips to score higher
- The market changes each run: a bull market snowballs hard but gives little cash, a bear market gives more runway but grows slowly, so tune your balance to it.
- Because each choice's payoff depends on the state earlier choices built, think of your play as a whole path, not question by question.
- Your answers also reveal your founder archetype, shown on the end screen alongside your business grade.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account or to pay?
- No. It is free, runs in the browser and asks for no sign-up or install.
- What is the 'optimal line' on the end screen?
- It is the best possible score for this run's exact question order and market, brute-forced; the gap shows how much more you could have squeezed out.
